Employee ApparelEmployee apparel promotes loyalty and communicates the wearer's relationship with the unit and the university. There are three different options for employee shirts. They are appropriate for denim, polo, or T-shirts. These designs may be embroidered or screen printed. Sesquicentennial Special - To commemorate Iowa State's 150th birthday, a special sesquicentennial version of the nameplate has been developed and is available for use on employee shirts. Your college, department, or affiliate name should be centered below the nameplate. All licensees have guidelines and artwork for these options and final designs must be approved by the university.s Trademark Licensing Office.
Option one - consists of the name of your college, department, or affiliate name below our nameplate. All licensees have guidelines and artwork for these options. Since these staff shirts are produced by licensees, the designs must be approved by the university's trademark and licensing office.
Option two - the stacked version of the university's secondary nameplate with the name of your college, department, or affiliate.
Option three - available for situations in which units want to show their support for our intercollegiate athletic program. Units should be aware that this option shifts their identity to more closely align with athletics. It consists of athletic word mark version two and the name of your college, department, affiliate, or extension set in Univers Black. University units that have names that could be confused with similar unit names within the intercollegiate athletic program should not use option 3.
Under Federal Trademark laws our university is required to control its nameplates or risk losing exclusive rights to them. The Trademark Licensing Program provides this needed control by granting individuals, organizations, and businesses the rights to use the nameplate under a license agreement. Iowa State has a responsibility to ensure that all products and services associated with or bears our nameplates are of high quality. We must preserve the integrity and reputation of our nameplates by careful association to any and all commercial, promotional and fund-raising efforts. This will prevent misleading or inaccurate portrayals of our university identity. Contact the Office of Trademark Licensing for additional information. |
