Employee ApparelEmployee apparel promotes loyalty and communicates the wearer's relationship with the unit and the university. There are four different options for employee shirts. They are appropriate for denim, polo, or T-shirts. These designs may be embroidered or screen printed. Since color is one of the most powerful ways a university can identify itself, employee apparel orders should be either red (match to Pantone 186, the university's official cardinal red), gold (match to Pantone 142) or white. Used consistently, the colors chosen to represent Iowa State create a strong identifying image. Conversely, some colors and color combinations can be confusing. Colors associated with other public institutions in the state should not be used. Even though gold is one of Iowa State's primary colors, use of black and gold together should be avoided. Purple is not within any of Iowa State's color palettes and should never be used.
Option one consists of the name of your college, department, or affiliate name below our nameplate.
All licensees have guidelines and artwork for these options.
Option two, the stacked version of the university's secondary nameplate with the name of your
college, department, or affiliate.
Option three, university spirit mark with the name of your college, department, or affiliate.
Option four is available for situations in which units want to show their support for our intercollegiate
athletics program. Units should be aware that this option shifts their identity to more closely align with
athletics. It consists of the athletic primary mark and the name of your college, department, affiliate, or
extension set in Univers Black. University units that have names that could be confused with similar unit
names within the intercollegiate athletic program should not use option four. |
